Submission Guidelines:

Material submitted should be your own work. Submitted works should not appear in any other publications. If your work has been accepted elsewhere, please let us know so that the piece can be removed from consideration.

Author shall not use generative AI or to work from AI-generated text, images/artwork or other creative submissions (AI-generated media). Authors shall disclose to Publisher if any AI-generated media is included in the submitted manuscript.

 

Requirements per submission

• Fiction and Nonfiction short stories/creative essays: Maximum of 2,500 words
• Poetry: No more than 100 lines
• Scripts: Maximum of 7 pages of properly formatted script (Courier New font is required)
• Graphic Narrative, Artwork and Photography: A one full page All submissions should be PDF or jpg, with a resolution of 300dpi

 

General Formatting Requirements

• 12-point font size
• Double spacing (exceptions for scripts and stylised poetry formatting)
• Numbered pages (top right corner header)
• Our house style is Australian standard: singular quotations and Australian spelling
• Include a header with the title of your work
• Your name should not appear anywhere on your work
• Submit written work as a doc.x file
• Graphic Narrative, Artwork and Photography should be PDF or jpg
• Each submission should be its own unique document

External Submitters (Non-Deakin University students or staff) are required to pay a submission fee: click here

• $9 AUD for 2 submissions
• $11 AUD for 3 submissions
