Meet the Editorial Team
Elizabeth Porporis – Submissions, Finance and Legal Manager
In her final year of her Bachelor of Arts with her major in Creative Writing, Liz was surprised by how much she enjoyed the editing and publishing side of the industry. She is excited to continue (and hopefully publish) her own writing, but to also help curate and elevate the writing careers of other aspiring writers.
She is incredibly excited and honoured to be helping showcase and highlight amazing talent for Verandah 40.
Tracey Martinovich – Production and Finance/ Grants Manager
Tracey is currently in the final year of her BA in Creative Writing at Deakin, Tracey is also a graduate of the Australian Writers’ Centre ‘Write Your Novel’ program. She draws on her own life experiences to explore queerness, identity, family and grief in her work. Her short stories have received Honorable Mentions in Elegant Literature competitions. Tracey is also part of the organising committee for the Festival of Fiction in Perth.
Maggie Pryke – Secretary and Sponsorship/ Events Manager
Maggie is currently in her third year of her BA as a Creative Writing student with a special interest in Indigenous Studies. Maggie’s connection to her Gamilaroi and Wiradjuri mob has led to her pursuing her love of storytelling. Her goal is to continue writing her truth and share stories that represent people, Country and culture.
She hopes that through Verandah, she will discover new stories from diverse and talented creatives.
Angelique Vandenhurk – Social Media and Advertising Manager
Angel is currently in her third year of a BA of Creative Arts, majoring in Publishing Angel hopes to kick start her career in the editing and publishing field after graduation.
Angel is tremendously excited to share her passion with Verandah, and help others find their voice in writing and reading.
